Second language acquisition in early years of childhood is an achievement to the parent because it makes a difference or it makes his/her child more confident and unique. Many adults aplaud young children who use English in their daily conversation. And as young children grow using the English language, the more they get competent and master it. Yes! It is pretty good that you are competent with the second language in the Philippines. You can say that you are different and you carry something that other people don't have. You are confident to any situation that would need the usage of the English language and whenever a person is facing an interview, a person who is good in that language has the advantage of passing it. 


                But it is no longer pretty good if somebody who had learned the second language almost belittle our mother language. How do other Filipino people resist of not using our mother language? How can other FILIPINO people make proud of telling and publishing that their mother language is actually our second language?! It does not make sense of writing any article that condemn the language of the Filipinos. That's why the article Language, Learning, Identity, Privilege of James Soriano was removed in the publication's website because of many criticisms brought to the article and of course to him. Honestly, I did not finish reading his article because at first I'm already annoyed with it, I just finished 2 0r 3 paragraphs of it. I  wonder why he wrote this article and I want to know his purpose of writing it that's why I asked my classmates what do they think is the sensible thing that he wanted to imply with his article. 
               Most of my classmates have answered that the writer wanted to promote the English language and he wanted to emphasize the importance of the language that he has degraded his own language. Yes, it is important to us to be globally competitive in terms of our language usage but we don't need to totally embrace the English language and forget the language of his country. He did not merely understand the importance of language in a country and to it's people that is why he is not deserving to use the other language if he cannot appreciate and love his country's own language. There is no sensible thing that was implied with his article, but merely a justification and proof that there is
 no sense of nationalism in him.
